About the clues: Actually, a pace, as opposed to a step, is every
two steps, or every time your left (or right) foot hits the ground. I
believe a pace is the same as a stride.

This is a question that has been much discussed on the list over the past
few years. The majority consensus is that a pace is a single step. You are
free to use the language you prefer, but it makes sense to define your terms
as footnotes to your own clues.
